INTERBUS conformance test 

Users of devices in industrial automation require permanent functional safety for the components used. The networking of products from different manufacturers places particular requirements on the interface.

To ensure the best possible level of security when selecting components, the INTERBUS Club offers a certification service. Phoenix Testlab performs comprehensive device tests as an independent test laboratory. Once it has passed all the tests, the device receives the “INTERBUS Certified” quality mark, which is becoming increasingly important among users.

In-situ test 

The in-situ test means testing on site.

Tests are performed on plants and systems, which are too large or too heavy to be tested in the laboratory.

For these tests, the EMC team has mobile EMC measuring equipment, which can record or simulate all the relevant EMC phenomena of plants and systems at the installation location.

Mobile EMC measuring equipment includes:

  • Noise test receiver according to CISPR
  • Magnetic field and electric field antennas
  • Burst and surge generator
  • ESD generator
  • Mains simulation up to 200 A per phase

Involving a notified body according to the EMC Directive 

Phoenix Testlab is involved as an “EMC notified body” whenever there are no harmonized standards for devices, systems or plants or there is a deviation from any such standards. In this case, we assess whether devices meet the protection requirements of the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC in all respects.

In the case of product versions, where, for example, a type test of the versions according to European standards is economically unviable, Phoenix Testlab can assess conformance with the protection requirements of the EMC Directive for the entire product range.

This also applies to devices, which due to their size or location cannot be tested for EMC as specified by the standard.
